First time trying Kin Teppanyaki and Bar. The vibes feel like fine dining, but the prices are still affordable. The staff were friendly and explained the menu in detail. We were also given a welcome dish consisting of meat, champignon mushrooms, and potato salad. We tried the Beef Omu Hambagu Kare — it was delicious. The rice portion was generous, the cheese was plentiful, and the curry was surprisingly good (even though I usually don’t like curry). Definitely worth trying!

A Japanese Gem in the Heart of Old Town Semarang After a long afternoon exploring the historic, Dutch-era streets of Kota Lama Semarang, we stumbled upon a true culinary treasure: Kin Teppanyaki & Bar. Nestled in one of the beautifully preserved colonial buildings, the restaurant perfectly captures the aesthetic charm of the area. It’s located on the second floor, providing a great vantage point of the historic neighborhood. Note: Since it is on the upper floor of a heritage building, accessibility might be a challenge for wheelchair users. The hospitality here is top-tier. We arrived looking quite exhausted and sweaty from our "workout" walking through the city heat, and the staff immediately greeted us with warmth—they even thoughtfully offered an extra fan to help us cool down! The interior design is spacious and comfortable. Unlike many trendy spots, the tables aren't squeezed together, so you actually have privacy to enjoy your conversation. You can choose between: Indoor: For a front-row seat to the teppanyaki action. Outdoor: To soak in the nostalgic night views of Kota Lama. The kitchen is led by an authentic Japanese chef, which gave us high expectations—and they were absolutely met. Watching the chef work with such friendliness and skill was a highlight of the night. We tried several dishes, and honestly, not a single one failed. Everything was a hit, satisfying both our cravings and our curiosity. The price is definitely a "splurge" (prepare to dig deep into your pockets!), but for the quality of ingredients and the authentic taste, it felt entirely worth it. Kin Teppanyaki is the perfect "reward" after a day of sightseeing. It’s a mix of historical Semarang charm and genuine Japanese craftsmanship. Whether you're here for the vibes or the food, you won't be disappointed.

Most impressive : SERVICE. Owner I believe is Japanese, is present and ALL staffs are well trained, versed, educated for etiquette and menu knowledge. Owner is very friendly. Food: quality and taste are good! It is very straightforward simple meal, but you could see the EFFORT being put in every dish they create. Especially the pairing of snacks for wine. Atmosphere: AWESOME vibe. I always love a restaurant that is so well thought and executed by the owner. Bravo!

Randomly found this when I went around Kota Lama. The food was really good. 1. The welcoming appetizer was surprisingly good: the mushroom was fresh and evenly seasoned, the smoked mashed potato had good texture and you can feel the smokiness and the umami 2. Gyutan & Hamburg: the beef tounge could be softer but it's acceptable. The mashed potato once again is well-seasoned. 3. Dashimaki Truffle Cheese Tamago: this is a wow worthy dish! I really love it. The strong flavor from truffle is balanced with the mushroom sauce and the creaminess from the omelette. And then the mushroom sauce itself... it has a hint of acidity which balanced the creaminess and everything 4. Matcha latte (ceremonial): it was perfect! You don't need to add sugar. Just order it without sugar 5. Lime sorbet w/ charcoal sauce: it was really good. The acidity was perfectly balanced with the sweet and salt. However the charcoal could be stronger. And I feel like maybe the sorbet should be infused with mint?

Great place with great foods. All of F&B they have are delicious, no exception. starting from appetizer, main corse and dessert. they have variance alcoholic drinks. The staffs and chefs are friendly and kind. they give us a free dessert and they said it’s new development. This is their first resto in Semarang. Hope they will open a branch in other city such as Jogja.

A new Teppanyaki spot in Semarang's Old Town (Kota Lama). The food is delicious, and the chef is Japanese and very friendly. The servers are also helpful and welcoming, explaining the menu in detail so customers can easily understand the choices. While waiting for our meal, we were served a free appetizer, and we also received a complimentary lime sorbet for dessert. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be back!

Just ate here and had a really nice experience. The chef is from Osaka, Japan, and he’s very friendly I ordered the beef hamburg & tenderloin steak combo. Honestly, it was really good, full of flavor. They also gave us a free dessert to try: banana cake with a slightly crunchy outside and vanilla ice cream, plus a matcha cake with chocolate ice cream. Everything was tasty, but my personal favorite was the banana cake with vanilla ice cream, with some sweet hazelnut or caramel drizzle on top. 10/10 Overall, a solid meal and nice vibes. Thanks to the chef
